Thank you all so much <3

Now to the big news

Yes that's right, Waha's Robot Daze robotic theme was because it was part of the robot day event here on Newgrounds, hosted by the great @MindChamber.

And guess what, WE WON BABY!! LET'S GOOOOO!!

Huge congrats to everyone who participated, as well as the other winners, namely @CrossCarrasco for their absolute banger and @ilikerobot for their beautiful robo-girl!!

To celebrate our victory, we have cooked up a special surprise for you all...

Arcade Mode is now LIVE!

A whole new game mode is now live on Waha's Robot Daze game.

Alô everyone!

1 week ago, I released A Date with Death Confessions, and so far the reception has been great!! I'm glad to see you all enjoy my silly game!!

It's the biggest game I've ever made (in both game length, file size and assets quantity), so I'm really happy the response has been so positive!

And, with the views on this new entry, a new milestone has also been reached...

The A Date with Death series has surpassed 100k views on Newgrounds!!

That's absolutely insane, it really shows just how many of you seem to enjoy necrophilia!!

Thank you all so much <3

What's Next?

So, while I believe a lot of you want A Date with Death 4, that's probably not coming anytime soon.

When I wrote the 2nd one, I already planned to do a 3rd entry to complete the "will-they-won't-they" arc for Death and the Hero.

Basically the idea was:

So while I have some ideas on what a 4th entry would look like (following the ending of the 3rd one), it's still way too early for me to even think about making a new entry.

Even though I do love me some necrophilia, I want to work on other game ideas for now.

I already have a few ideas I'm prototyping that I think you'll all enjoy!!

Besides that, I've also been thinking of starting a yt channel to give some funny behind the scenes looks at how games are made, so maybe I'll announce something soon.

Either way, thank you for playing my games, and I hope you'll continue to support me for what I have planned next!

(And if you're still not, you can just drop me a follow, it's ABSOLUTELY FREE !!)

Bonus Behind the Scenes

Well, after all that text, I feel like I need to show some pictures, so here's a few sketches from the new characters in A Date with Death Confessions (Note: I'm not an artist, so don't expect much hahahaha)

Goddess Fighting Sketch

Fake Goddess Sketch

originally she had no wings, but it looked too static in-game

Original Goddess sketches

She used to have a mouth that didn't move, but it looked weird in-game.

She was also gonna be just sort of a mean prankster, that would turn into an ally in the end of the game.

This however, felt to similar to Heli and Selene in DwD2, so it got completely changed.

Mako (The Secretary) Sketches

Mako was originally gonna be a character in A Date with Death 2.

He also had the most redesigns out of all the characters, this is only a few.

Hey everyone! It's been a while hasn't it?

With 2022 coming to an end, I'm doing this post to recap what has happened this year, where I've been and what I've got in store for 2023.

2022 Games Recap

This was a big project. While the game itself took a couple of months, I created around 3 other "A Date with Death 2" versions that I was not happy with, trying to find how I could make a good continuation to the story.

When releasing, I was quite nervous if people would like/be interested in the sequel. But with it being my most highly rated game, and the continuous requests for A Date with Death 3, I think it was an absolute success!!

While I feel the game itself has a bunch of flaws and we could have done it better, for me it's a very important game.

It marked the first time I ever collabed with other game developers, and it was a lot of fun!

Special thanks to the great lead programmer @MigMoog for helping me with Godot, as I am a filthy Unity shill, and also the rest of the Team Max Hog for letting me join in on the fun!

This was also a big project, made for Mobile Jam 22, I was delighted on the warm reception it got!

Made alongside the impeccable @Skoops and with Music and SFX by the amazing @MaldivirDragonwitch, this game is so full of personality that I really love how it turned out!!

Also, we were able to win the 3rd place prize AND we got frontpaged on the NG banner!!!!

Where have I been?

So, ever since Panpukin Panic, I have not been posting anything else here. And if you don't follow me on Twitter, you might not know what I've been doing.

TLDR: I've been preparing for 2023 to be a great year.

Making games takes a lot of time and effort, so I've been working on some tools so I can make games more regularly.

Here are the ones I'm the most proud of:

  1. RopesFlashy - A Adobe Flash/Animate importer for Unity.

This tool allows me to quickly import Adobe Animates texture atlas, making it so I can use the animations from flash, but also animate small movements in Unity.

Before, I always had to split textures by hand, and try and place everything in the correct spot, with the correct joints.

  1. RopesBigBranchingConvos - A Dialogue Parser/Viewer

As you might have noticed, a lot of my games have characters talking.

However, I always did the dialogue parsers from scratch for each game. They could either be very simple (like GOTH vs DEMONS) or way too complex (like A Date with Death 2).

For way too many months I've been working on a standardised but very customizable tool I can use for any game in the future.

It might not look like much, but this is undoubtedly the hardest game dev thing I've ever done.

What's Next?

I consider this last few months to be the calm before the storm.

I want to make 2023 a year to remember.

While in January, I'll still be quiet, starting February I have a lot of stuff lined up.

And yes, I'll start by making A Date with Death 3!!

Thank you everyone who has supported me so far, and I hope you will continue to follow me on the crazy year that will be 2023.

Hey everyone, there's quite a few more of you now, welcome!

1 week ago, I released A Date with Death 2, and the response to it has been INCREDIBLE!!

The amount of people on board with necrophilia is jaw dropping and it's currently my highest rated game ever!!!

It took a lot of work to make DwD2, but I'm happy to see it was all worth it!! :)

So... What's next?

Well, I'm probably gonna make more DwD, I just love these two dumb characters too much not too.

Just not right now.

I want to make some more dubious game ideas first (with more gameplay and less text hopefully).

I'm also trying to be more active in both Twitter and Newgrounds, so if you still haven't followed, YOU SHOULD!!

And that's really all the update stuff I have for now.

Hopefully I'll check up here again soon :P

(Also I'm hidden in this picture, can you find me? It's pretty hard)

Hey, it has been a while!

I'm here to give a quick update on how things are going!

So if you follow me here (which you totally should, we have reached 150 fans!!), you might have seen I released Goth Vs Demons on halloween night. And I'll be honest, it was pretty broken.

I wasn't happy when I released it, I just wanted to release something. Because I had a plan.

You see, both A Date with Death and Hare Egg took around 2 weeks to leave "Under Judgment", so, if I did an update BEFORE it left, barely anyone would see the broken game.

HOWEVER YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY, because instead of 2 weeks it took 2 days. And instead of a couple of views it has over 200???

You guys absolutely outplayed my plan.

Welp either way, the update is out right now!

If fixes most of the most glaring problems and adds some new stuff to spice up gameplay a bit.

It's basically a complete overall of the original game, so I suggest giving it a try!

Next I'll be continue working on A Date with Death 2 which will hopefully be released by the end of the month.

So until then, here's a sneak peak of the date <3

Hello everyone,

I've got some cool stuff to share so I am once again giving you guys an update! (Again, for more regular stuff, follow my twitter)

Hare Egg

To start off, Hare Egg has come in third place on Newgrounds July Jam!!! This is incredible and I'm very happy!

Thank you to everyone who has played it, it means a lot to me.

Now that the jam is over, I've updated Hare Egg to fix some small problems I found. I didn't want to invalidate my submission when the judging was still going on, but now I have gone back and fixed some typos and bugs and also uploaded a downloadable version on itch.io.

A Date with Death 2

Development is going well, so far, I've been focusing on the "dating" sections to try and make them more lively than the original one, with more movement, expressions and overall things happening.

The original idea I had for the sequel included a lot of new characters and a fairly big story. However, I then realized the stupid amount of time I would have to spend on that, scrapped it and went back to the roots of the original game.

DwD 2 will just be an (hopefully) improved continuation of the original one. With all the focus being on Death and Hero, since I feel their relationship and witty banter was what made the original so well received.

Until the next update I hope to have the game done to be released, so we'll see!

Meanwhile, I leave you with the Hero sitting on Death's lap.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post, so sorry if I don't know what I'm doing. I just wanted to give an update on what I'm currently working on. I think doing monthly updates like these would be a good way to do it (however for more frequent and behind the scenes stuff you could always follow me on twitter... Just saying...)

First off, I have released a new game for the Newgrounds July Game Jam: Hare Egg, I had a lot of fun making it and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

Next, A Date with Death has reached 25 000 views!! That's absolutely insane and I'm incredibly happy! Thank you everyone who played it, shared it and commented on it <3

Almost since the release of DwD I have been asked if I planned to do a sequel to it, to which I replied "...maybe? If I get a good idea".

The "Kys to date Death" mechanic can't really be repeated since... He's already dead... But I think I've had a few interesting ideas on how to make a sequel and am currently prototyping to see if they are fun.

And so (and the main reason for this post), I'd like to ask YOU what you'd like to see on a Date with Death 2.

  • What did you enjoy the most on DwD?
  • Would you like more focus on the dating aspect or did you enjoy the back and forth?
  • Is there something you think need to be additionally explored from the first one?

Let me know what you guys think <3
